Svarog

            Functionally Svarog is connected with the fire and heavenly sphere, and consequently with the heavenly fire. In ancient times people believed, that the terrestrial fire is generated from the heavenly fire. And, really, the spirit of the terrestrial fire in eastern Slavic mythology is called Svarozhich – the son of Svarog. The god or spirit of fire was revered by all Slavs.

            In Slavic mythology Svarog is the god of heavenly fire and at the same time the presenter of earthly blessings.
